Wedding Day
You're so excited to get married, there's so much planning and anticipation leading up to this day.
You've made sure every detail is perfect from the dress, silverware, florals, color palette, down to the hair pins. The last thing you need is an unprepared wedding disaster. Having a kit ready to go on your wedding day will be instrumental to a smooth day.
What Could Go Wrong
Oftentimes we think our planning is enough, it's not. The most frequent mishaps I see are related to wardrobe malfunctions.
While the obvious things that might stain the dress would be foods and beverages, things that often also stain the dress are grass, dirt, flowers and makeup. All of which are extremely hard to remove without a stain remover.
Although you spend thousands of dollars on a dress, they usually end up with some sort of wardrobe malfunction; zippers breaking, eyelets ripping, buttons popping, and seams splitting. I can guarantee that someone on your wedding day will be able to sew, as long as you have the tools for them to help.
Shoes break, it happens. You roll your ankle, the clasp or heel breaks. As well, sometimes your feet HURT and you need something else to wear. At my own wedding I had prepped everything, worn my heels regularly, broke them in, etc. BUT on the actual day, the jewels on my heels kept catching my wedding dress, tripping me up; nearly sending me into a face plant. Having back up shoes saved me.
Undergarments; regardless of if you plan to wear them or not cause issues. You can see underwear seams, you chafe if your legs touch, shape wear gets uncomfortable, you start your menstrual cycle, etc. Having a pair regardless of if you think you'll need them or not can make or break your day. As well having a nip slip during your wedding is never ideal, having something to protect yourself, your bridesmaids, and your guests from a show will always decrease stress.
Speaking of Menstrual Cycles, you need to plan for that too. If not for yourself, at least for your bridesmaids. Stress can alter menstrual cycles, starting your period on your wedding day is more common than you think, and as well having a bridesmaid start without what she needs can be just as hectic. Coming prepared is always a good idea.
Sometimes your hair and makeup just don't go as planned and you need to adjust things yourself. Having your own makeup (even for reference for your makeup artist) as well as having some hot tools, pins, and hair spray with you can be an absolute life saver. Even if hair and makeup go perfectly sometimes your hair gets messed up, your makeup smudges and touch ups are needed; keeping your hair and makeup artist on site is always a great idea but if you're not able, bringing your stuff with you is the next best option.
Having a nail break or fall off can make or break your look. Keeping some nail glue, extra nails, etc in your kit can make something that feels so big into something very small. As well, having a first aid kit in there in case of a painfully broken nail can save you from a wedding day "emergency".
Lastly hygiene, sometimes you're so wound up in the day that you forget regular things like putting on deodorant or brushing your teeth. Then you spend the whole day wondering if anyone else can smell you. Having deodorant, and oral hygiene tools in your kit can save you from smelling and ensure your smile looks the best on your wedding day.
What to Pack in Your Kit
This list has the essentials to make sure you're prepared for whatever the day throws at you:

-Sewing Kit (Needles, Matching Thread to the Dress(es) and the Suit/Tux, Extra buttons)
-Back up Shoes (Second Pair of Dress Shoes and a Comfortable Pair of Shoes)
-Underwear (Two pairs; No Show Tan, and Tan Biker Shorts)
-Body Tape/Fabric Tape (Anything That Can Prevent a Nip Slip and Keep Garments in Place)
-Menstral Protection (Tampons, Pads, etc)
-Your Own Make Up (Full Kit for Touch ups and Reference, Lash Glue)
-Hair Care Supplies (Pins, Ties, Hot Tools, Hairspray)
-Deodorant (Clear Antiperspirant)
-Tooth Care (Tooth Paste & Tooth Brush)
-Nail Care (Nail Glue, Extra Nails)
-First Aid Kit (Pain Reliever, Bandaids, Gauze, Antiseptic, Medical Tape)
Make the Best out of Your Day
At the end of the day, you want to remember your love and matrimony above all else. You don't want to remember a mortifying giant stain on your butt and have your family bring it up for the next decade every time they see you.
